Laser Teeth Whitening with BLANCONE
At Mantsho Dental, in-office cosmetic teeth whitening is carried out using the confirmed BLANCONE whitening approach. We focus on clinical safety, suitability assessment, and realistic aesthetic expectations.
Discussing a brighter smile
Natural tooth colour is influenced by enamel thickness, the underlying yellowish hue of dentine, ageing, and lifestyle factors such as tea, coffee, red wine, or tobacco. While daily hygiene and professional cleanings remove external surface stains, internal pigmentation requires active cosmetic whitening agents.
When considering in-chair whitening with BLANCONE, the first step is an open discussion about your cosmetic goals. We explain how the treatment works, evaluate your current tooth shade, and set realistic targets together.
Understanding whitening and its limits
- Natural enamel response. Whitening products act only on natural organic tooth structure. Everyone's enamel density varies, so individual lightening results differ naturally.
- Existing restorations. Dental materials such as composite resin fillings, porcelain crowns, and veneers do not change colour with whitening agents. We inspect any existing front restorations before treatment.
Suitability and oral health
Oral health always comes first before aesthetic procedures. Whitening agents should not be applied over active dental decay, untreated cavities, exposed dentine roots, or severe gum inflammation.
For this reason, we recommend beginning with an oral assessment and a fresh scaling and polishing so the enamel surface is clean and gums are settled before whitening.
Questions before whitening
- Ask about transient temperature sensitivity during or shortly after the appointment.
- Discuss dietary guidelines (the "white diet") immediately following whitening.
- Review whether any visible dental fillings might need shade adjustment afterwards.
Teeth whitening questions
Is whitening the same as teeth cleaning?
No. Teeth cleaning physically removes tartar and surface stains for oral hygiene; whitening uses clinical active formulations to lighten intrinsic enamel discolouration.
How is suitability assessed?
During a clinical check to ensure gums are healthy, there are no open cavities or defective restorations, and your tooth sensitivity history is understood.
What about sensitivity?
Some patients experience temporary cold sensitivity during or after whitening. BLANCONE protocols are designed for clinical tolerance, and sensitive-care guidance is provided.
What about existing restorations?
Existing tooth-coloured fillings and crowns do not whiten. If you have restorations in your smile zone, we plan ahead to ensure overall aesthetic harmony.
How are results maintained?
Through conscientious daily brushing, regular professional cleanings, and moderating exposure to strongly staining beverages.
